Blair Patterson (1938-40) led Tiffin's first ever intercollegiate basketball team. He was the Captain and starting point guard for TU's first intercollegiate team in 1939-40, winning the Indiana-Ohio Basketball Conference in their initial year. It was the first ever title of any kind for the men's basketball team and was the pinnacle of the pre-World War II era athletically for the Dragons. Patterson went on to Northwestern University and Temple Law School while also serving on a sub during World War II. He went on to become Vice-President of All-State Insurance and served on its Board of Directors until retiring in 1978.
