Shauna Hurles has been named Head Volleyball Coach at Tiffin University.
Hurles recently completed her second season as an assistant coach with the Dragons. She takes over after the departure of Dana Cordova, who coached the Dragons from 2010-16. Working closely with Cordova last season, the Dragons enjoyed their best season in 10 years, finishing 19-12, 9-8 in the GLIAC. It was the most wins TU has enjoyed since becoming a Division II member.
Dana Cordova has resigned as Head Volleyball Coach at Tiffin University and will become the Director of Retention and Development for the Athletic Department.
For the first time in 23 years, two Dragons earned All-Region honors, as Jenna Huffman and Taylor Lattimore were selected to the D2CCA All-Region team, marking the first time in program history that an athlete was honored regionally at the NCAA Division II level. The last Tiffin University volleyball player to receive an All-Region selection was Holly Morgan back in 2006 when the university was still participating at the NAIA level.
Tiffin University's Jenna Huffman was named GLIAC Blocker of the Year while Taylor Lattimore was named Libero of the Year, as the 2016 GLIAC All Conference volleyball awards were announced.
Tiffin freshman middle hitter Jenna Huffman had a record week for the Dragons, totaling 50 kills (3.57 k/s), 31 digs (2.21 d/s), and 19 total blocks (1.36 b/s).
Tiffin University (18-11, 8-7 GLIAC) started fast and then was forced to dig deep to pull out a marathon match against Lake Erie, as TU pulled into a tie for 7th in the GLIAC with a 25-19, 25-11, 22-25, 33-35, 18-16 victory.

The Tiffin University volleyball team picked up a huge GLIAC win on Friday night, beating the Hillsdale College Chargers 3-1 for the first time in program history.
The Dragon's volleyball team will be at home this weekend after a long stint of weekend road games.
