Joey Simcoe has been named Super Region 3 Coach of the Year by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.

Simcoe has led the Dragons to arguably their best season ever, as they finished 2nd at the Super Region 3 Championships held at Indianapolis. The finish is the best in program history, while they also are ranked 8th in Division II.

The Dragons also qualified five grapplers for the NCAA Division II National Championships in Sioux City, South Dakota March 13-14. Christopher Donathan (149), Trey Grine (157), Bryan LaVearn (165), Hayden Bronne (174), and Nicholas Mason (197) all landed spots, with Mason looking to defend his 2019 National Championship.

The Dragons also won the GMAC Championship, placing eight wrestlers on the All Conference team. Simcoe also earned GMAC Coach of the Year honors, his third conference Coach of the Year honor. Under Simcoe's direction, the team has qualified 28 wrestlers for national championship competition.

Bronne continues to lead the nation in falls, while Grine (tech falls, most dominant) and Mason (falls) also rank high in the national statistical categories.
