Women's Basketball Defeated by Walsh 69-56

The Tiffin University women's basketball team (5-16, 2-11 GMAC) lost to the Cavaliers 69-56.

Walsh started strong with an 8-0 run, but Tiffin fought back going on a 9-0 run to take a 9-8 lead. The Dragons outscored the Cavaliers 6-5 the rest of the quarter to lead 15-13.

The two teams traded buckets in the second quarter, tying the game at 19-19. Tiffin went on a 6-1 run to lead 25-20 with 5:30 left in the quarter. Walsh chipped away at the lead the rest of the quarter but the Dragons held a 33-29 advantage going into the break.

TU came out strong in the second half, going on a 6-2 run to extend their lead to 39-31. The Cavaliers countered with a 7-0 run to cut the lead down to 39-38. Walsh outscored TU 7-6 the rest of the third quarter, tying the game at 45-45 going into the final frame.

The Cavaliers' offense awoke in the fourth quarter, going on a 16-0 run to lead 61-45 with 5:41 left in the game. With that run, Walsh sealed the 69-56 win over the Dragons.

Catara Dejarnette hit a career-high 20 points to lead the Dragons, shooting 8-for-15 from the field, and 4-for-8 from beyond the arc, with one rebound, and one steal, Savanah Richards tallied 14 points shooting 6-for-11 from the field, with five rebounds, and one steal and Presley Feltner had eight points shooting 4-for-7 from the field, grabbed 10 rebounds with three assists.
