Women's Basketball Defeated by Malone 62-52

The Tiffin University women's basketball team (5-13, 2-8 G-MAC) fell to Malone 62-52.

Malone jumped out to a 5-2 lead early, but Tiffin was able to bounce back to take a 9-7 lead. TU led 11-10 at the end of the first quarter.

The Pioneers went on a 5-0 to start the second quarter, but the Dragons countered with an 8-0 run to lead 19-15 at the 6:33 mark. Malone rallied, tying the game at 22-22. However, Tiffin's offense stepped up and went on an 8-0 run to lead 30-22 with 1:54 left in the quarter. The Dragons took a 30-25 lead into the break.

At the start of the third quarter, Malone outscored the Dragons 8-3 to tie the game at 33-33. TU responded with a 6-3 run to take a 39-36 lead. Each team scored seven points to give Tiffin a 46-43 advantage going into the final frame.

Malone started the fourth quarter strong, going on an 8-2 run to lead 51-48 with 4:07 left in the contest. The Pioneers' defense held strong in the fourth as they outscored TU in the fourth quarter 19-6 to win 62-52.

The Dragons' offense was led by Savanah Richards with 25 points shooting 10-for-14 from the field, had six rebounds, two steals, and one assist, Kirsten Williams recorded eight points shooting 3-for-11 from the field with a team-high nine rebounds and one steal, and Catara Dejarnette scored eight points shooting 3-for-7 from the field, four rebounds, two steals, one assist, and one block.
