Women's Basketball Falls to Davenport in Close Contest

The Tiffin University women's basketball team fell to Davenport 56-55.

The Dragons took the lead first going up 5-2, but the Panthers responded with a 10-0 run to lead 12-5 midway through the first quarter. Tiffin ended the quarter with a 5-2 run to cut the lead down to 14-10.

TU came out in the second quarter hot, going on an 11-2 run to take a 21-16 lead with 5:44 left in the first half. The Dragons held off a Panthers' run to take a 29-23 lead into the break.

The Panthers came out of the break with a 7-0 run to lead 30-29. Tiffin responded with a monster 11-0 run to lead 42-34 with 35 seconds left in the third. TU led 43-37 going into the final frame.

The Panthers chipped away at the Dragons' lead in the fourth to cut the lead down to 49-45. Davenport ended the fourth on an 11-6 lead including two free throws with 7 seconds left to take the lead 56-55. A last-second three-point attempt by Kirsten Williams did not go in as Davenport got the win over Tiffin.
