Tiffin University has been picked 10th in the GMAC women's basketball preseason poll.

The Dragons (50 points) trail Malone (64) and Ursuline (74)in the poll. Ashland took the top spot with 144 points and 12 first-place votes out of a possible 13. In second is Kentucky Wesleyan (129), followed by Walsh (110) in third with one first-place vote, and Northwood (105) in fourth.

Last season, TU finished with a 13-15 record. Tiffin will look to continue its strong defense as they were fourth in the conference in points allowed with 62.9 points, fourth in rebounding averaging with 35.1 rebounds, and sixth in steals with 7.46 steals per game.

This season the team returns three regular starters. Savanah Richards leads the group as she averaged 9.9 points shooting 44.5 percent from the field, 3.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.4 steals, Jada Tate tallied 9.8 points shooting 42.1 percent from the field, 8.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 0.8 steals, and Kirsten Williams registered 7.6 points, shooting 41.9 percent from the field and 34.1 from beyond the arc, 4.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.0 steals per game.

The women's basketball squad has some great transfers and newcomers in the squad including Carly Maple, Camille Letz, Ellie Gabel, Samantha Hoelscher, Hannah Sheidler, Pistol Brinson, Jae'onna Sutton, and Catara Dejarnette.

The Dragons open their season on November 11 at home in the Tiffin Crossover where they will face McKendree, then Ill.-Springfield on November 12, and host Mercyhurst on November 16. Next, the team goes on a two-game road trip to Grand Valley State on November 18 and Davenport on November 19. Then, TU returns home for Lake Superior State on November 26 and a trip to Saginaw Valley on November 29. Conference play starts on December 1 when they face Malone and then travel to Ashland on December 3. Hillsdale is the Dragons' first conference home game on December 8 before traveling to rival Findlay on December 10. Tiffin closes the year out on the road as they face Northwood on December 15 and West Liberty on December 18.
