Austin Pierpont

Austin enters his 2nd year with the Tiffin Dragons as the Assistant Athletic Trainer in 2023-24. In addition to helping keep the Dragons' health top priority, Austin also takes on various duties within the organization that makes the Sports Medicine Program run fluently, one of which is being a preceptor for students from the Ohio area enrolled in an Athletic Training program. He currently oversees the Dragons Men’s Wrestling, STUNT/Cheer, and Men’s Golf teams.

Austin spent 1 year with Warner University working with Men’s Soccer, Football, Men’s & Women’s Basketball, Track and Field/CC, and Flag Football. While with the Royals, Austin obtained his Intravenous therapy certification through the Board of Nursing. Austin also carried duties such as maintaining inventory, implemented satellite COVID-19 PCR testing, and maintained the EMR system utilized by the sports medicine staff.

A graduate of Ottawa University Arizona (OUAZ), Pierpont received his master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in population health and healthcare management. While at OUAZ, he was the graduate assistant athletic trainer for women's soccer, men's basketball, and baseball. Here he utilized Blood Flow Restriction, biofeedback, and postural restoration exercises.

Prior to his tenure at Ottawa University, Pierpont completed his undergraduate work at Metropolitan State University of Denver, receiving his bachelor's degree in athletic training. Here, he worked with MSU Denver softball, men's basketball, Denver University alpine skiing, the South Metropolitan Fire Department, and the Colorado Avalanche. Pierpont is currently working on obtaining more certifications and experience to become a more well rounded athletic trainer. When Austin is not practicing athletic training, he enjoys playing golf, mountain biking, skiing, lifting weights, spending time with his family and playing with dogs.
