Tiffin University's women's golf team was solidly in second place after two rounds of the GMAC Championship.
The two top seeds and nationally-ranked women's golf teams in the Great Midwest both laid claims to the top two spots at a cold and wet UK Big Blue in Lexington, Kentucky. Findlay, ranked 7th in the country, and 55th-ranked Tiffin built sizable leads over 36 holes to position themselves for a final showdown on Tuesday.
Findlay (294-304=598 (+22)) built a large lead and sits in first place by 34 shots. Tiffin (313-319=632 (+56)) is second and 35 shots ahead of third-place Ashland (+91).
Tiffin was led by Amanda Johansson (153, +9), who was tied for third overall with rounds of 78 and 75. Lisa Marie Schumacher was in 8th with 77-81 for 158.
Jordan Van Meter also landed in the Top 10, sitting in 10th with 160 (77-83). Michaela Lindahl was 13th (81-83 for 164) while Alexis Savage was 19th (88-80 for 168).
At the conclusion of 54 holes, the top two teams will play in a single-round medal match for the championship.
