Shooting woes sink Dragons 66-34

Tiffin University (1-4, 0-1 G-MAC) played a close first quarter but fell apart in the second half, as Ursuline won 66-34 in TU's home opener.

Tiffin held the lead after the first 10 minutes 14-10 but the Arrows turned the tide quickly in the second period, racing to a 17-6 edge to take a 28-20 halftime lead.

The Dragons looked to put a run together quickly coming out of the halftime locker room but it was not to be as Tiffin shot just 27 percent to the Arrows' 60 percent in the period. Ursuline put itself ahead 45-27 after three periods of play with a 17-7 scoring advantage in the period.

Tiffin shot 12 percent from the floor in the second half while Ursuline scorched the nets at a 58 percent clip over the final 20 minutes.

For the game, Tiffin shot 19 percent including 7 percent from three-point land. Ursuline converted at a 52 percent clip.

While both teams had 20 turnovers, the Arrows held a 26-8 edge in points off turnovers and also won the battle in the paint 26-18. 

Savanah Richards led the Dragons with 9 points while Catara Dejarnette and Tomi Hinkle had 5 apiece. Presley Feltner reached double figures with 10 rebounds.
