Women's Basketball Edged by Ursuline at Seventh Annual Hoops for Hope Game

The Tiffin University women's basketball team (5-15, 2-10 G-MAC) fell to Ursuline 51-49.

The Arrows started with a 6-2 lead, but the Dragons charged back with a 9-0 run to take an 11-6 lead with 3:19 left in the first quarter. Ursuline responded with a 9-3 run to lead 15-14 at the end of the first.

Ursuline outscored Tiffin 16-9 in the second quarter, ending the first half on a 14-7 run to lead 31-23.

Tiffin caught fire in the second half, going on a 15-2 run in the first six minutes to take a 38-33 lead to force an Ursuline timeout. The Arrows countered with a 9-3 run to lead 42-41 at the end of the third quarter.

In the final frame, Tiffin chipped away and tied the game at 47-47 at the 6:29 mark. However, the Arrows outscored the Dragons 4-2 for the rest of the quarter to win 51-49.

Catara Dejarnette led the team with 15 points shooting 4-for-8 from beyond the arc, had three rebounds, and one steal, Kirsten Williams recorded 11 points shooting 4-for-10 from the field, and five rebounds. Presley Feltner tallied nine points shooting 4-for-7 from the field, had three rebounds, two assists, and one steal, and teammate Jada Tate scored four points, and grabbed 12 rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
