The Tiffin University women's basketball team fell to GMAC opponent Malone 74-59 as Dana Rose recorded the first double-double of her TU career with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The Pioneers improve to 13-11 overall and 9-9 in the conference, while the Dragons fall to 12-14 overall and 9-11 in the conference.

Tiffin jumped out to an 8-3 lead in the first quarter, but the Pioneers rallied back with a 7-0 run to lead 10-8. The Dragons outscored the host 4-2 to tie the game at 12-12 to end the first quarter.

In the first two minutes of play, Malone started quarter two hot, going on a 7-4 run to lead 19-16. The Dragons pushed back, going on a 6-2 run to take a 22-21 lead with 5:38 left in the first half. The Pioneers ended the half on a 10-4 run to lead 31-26 going into halftime.

The Pioneers came out strong at the half, jumping out to a 40-32 lead midway through the third quarter. The Dragons cut the lead to five with a three-point play by Savanah Richards. Malone was a scoring machine and outscored the Dragons 13-2 to lead 53-37 going into the final frame.

The Dragons caught fire in the fourth as they went on a 10-3 run midway through the fourth quarter to bring the score to 56-47. The Pioneers responded with a 7-2 run to extend their lead to 63-49 with 2:55 left in the game. The Pioneers were able to hold off the Dragons' fourth-quarter surge with clutch free throws to seal the 74-59 win.

The Dragons' offense was led by Aarion Nichols who scored 17 points shooting 6-for-20 from the field, with eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals, followed by Savanah Richards who registered 15 points shooting 6-for-11 from the field, with four rebounds, and one steal. Dana Rose tallied 14 points shooting 5-for-13 from the field with 10 rebounds, two blocks, and one steal for the first double-double of her career.
