Women’s Basketball Ends Regular Season on the Road

The Tiffin University women's basketball team are set to play three GMAC teams on the road in a race to clinch a post-season berth into the GMAC Tournament. Tiffin begins their road stint at Malone on Tuesday, Feb. 22, with a 5:30 p.m. game time. Next, they travel to Michigan to face Hillsdale on Thursday, Feb. 24, for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off. Finally, the Dragons head to rival Findlay for the last game of the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 26, with the game set to start at 11:00 a.m.

Dragon Details:

The Dragons went 1-2 last week with a win over Malone.

Tiffin's offense is led by Aarion Nichols who is averaging 16.5 points shooting 39.5 percent from the field and 39.7 percent from three-point territory, 8.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.6 steals, Jada Tate is scoring 10.2 points shooting 42.6 percent from the field, 7.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 0.8 steals, and Savanah Richards registers 9.3 points shooting 44.0 percent from the field and 30.6 percent from beyond the arc, 3.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.

 

Scouting the Pioneers:

The Pioneers went 0-2 last week against GMAC opponents.

Malone's offense is led by Robin Campbell who is averaging 13.8 points shooting 53.1 percent from the field and 34.3 percent from three-point range, 4.9 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.4 steals, followed by teammate Holly Groff who scores 13.3 points shooting 41.6 percent from the field and 33.6 percent from beyond the arc, 3.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.2 steals. Alexis Hutchinson registered 12.3 points shooting 40.7 percent from the field and 30.1 percent from three-point territory, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.

The Pioneers lead the all-time series against the Dragons 7-6, with their last meeting coming on Feb. 17, 2022 when the Dragons won 64-56.

The Chargers went 1-0 last week with a win over Lake Erie.

Hillsdale's offense is led by Grace Touchette who is averaging 16.8 points shooting 44.8 percent from the field and 32.7 percent from beyond the arc, 3.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 0.8 steals, Sydney Mills is second on the team in scoring with 12.7 points shooting 38.2 percent from the field and 33.8 percent from three-point territory, 10.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 0.8 steals, and Peighton Nelson records 8.5 points shooting 48.1 percent from the field, 2.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.4 steals per game.

The Chargers lead the all-time series against the Dragons 15-9, with their last meeting coming on Jan. 15, 2022 when the Chargers won 72-63.

The Oilers went 3-0 last week in conference play with wins against Trevecca Nazarene, Lake Erie, and Ursuline.

Findlay's offense is led by Sydney Kin who is averaging 17.4 points shooting 59.8 percent from the field, 9.4 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, and 1.0 steals, followed by Bridget Landin who scores 11.5 points shooting 50.0 percent from the field, 8.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.8 blocks per contest.

The Oilers lead the all-time series against the Dragons 19-9, with their last meeting coming on Jan. 18, when the Dragons won 60-57.
