Women’s Basketball team Powers Past Seton Hill 60-49

The Tiffin University women's basketball team defeated Seton Hill 60-49, with Aarion Nichols and Jada Tate both recording double-doubles in the win over the Griffins.

The Dragons improve to 2-2 on the year, while the Griffins fall to 3-3 overall. 

Strong defense was the story in the first quarter, but Tiffin started strong going on an 8-0 run in the first five minutes of action. Seton Hill countered with a 7-0 run to cut the lead down to 8-7. The Dragons ended the first quarter on a 4-0 run to lead 12-7. 

The Griffins came out strong in quarter two, scoring six unanswered points to take a 13-12 lead. Neither team was able to get their offense going as the Griffins outscored the Dragons in quarter two 8-5, but the Dragons went into halftime up 17-15.

Tiffin's offense exploded in the third quarter as they outscored Seton Hill 22-14. TU outscored the Griffins 11-8 in the first five minutes of the third to lead 28-23, then finished with a 39-29 lead on an 11-6 run.

With the Dragons up by ten at the start of the fourth quarter, the Griffins went on an 8-5 run to cut into Tiffin's lead. The Dragons made back-to-back three-point shots to bring the lead to 12 points at 52-38. Tiffin outlasted the Griffins to win the game 60-49.  

Aarion Nichols led the Dragons with 20 points shooting 7-for-19 from the field and 2-for-3 from beyond the arc, grabbed 14 rebounds, five assists, and three steals, Jada Tate tallied 14 points shooting 6-for-10 from the field, had 11 rebounds, and one assist, and Brianna O'Connor scored nine points, shooting 3-for-9 from the field, nabbed seven rebounds, and two assists. Savanah Richards registered eight points, shooting 2-for-6 from the field, had two rebounds, two assists, and one steal. 

TU dominated on the rebounds 46-32 while also shooting 40 percent from three-point land on 8 of 20 shooting.
