After advancing through the tournament bracket and winning the championship title, Tiffin secures Great Midwest Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors, announced Monday afternoon.

Tiffin entered the conference tournament as the No. 5 seed, defeated No. 4 Ohio Dominican in the opening round, No. 1 Cedarville in the semifinals and No. 2 Kentucky Wesleyan in the championship game. 

The Dragons beat Ohio Dominican on a tip-in layup in the closing seconds of the game, 54-53. In the semifinal they beat the host Cedarville, 72-56, never trailing throughout the contest. Tiffin closed their run through the bracket with a thrilling overtime victory over KWC, 61-57.

Tiffin was one of four conference teams to advance into the extended postseason, earning bids to the Atlantic Regional, announced Sunday night. Tiffin earned the No. 6 seed and will face KWC who earned the No. 3 seed in a rematch of the conference championship. Cedarville and Walsh also earned at large bids, as they will face off in the opening round as the No. 4 and No. 5 seeds. The regional quarterfinals will take place on Friday, March 12.

Nichols started the postseason tournament with a double-double in the win over ODU, with 13 points and 10 rebounds. She also added four assists and four steals to her stat line. 

Against Cedarville, Nichols was unconscious in the first half with 18 points in that half alone. She finished with 22 points on 10-of-16 shooting and added nine rebounds and four assists. 

In the championship game, the junior got off to a slow start but scored 12 points in the third quarter to push the momentum in favor of the Dragons. She finished with 22 points on 10-of-24 shooting, while adding six rebounds and two steals. Her lone three-pointer of the game came in the closing seconds of regulation, to push the game into overtime. 

Nichols 16 points per game average ranks her seventh in the conference in scoring and her 8.3 rebounds per game ranks her sixth in the conference in that category. She is also third in the league in steals, with 2.2 per contest. 

The first-team all conference guard surpassed the 1,000 career-point milestone during Friday's semifinal game.
