Tiffin University will take on Kentucky Wesleyan in the opening round of the NCAA Atlantic Regional in Columbus, Ohio on March 12.

Tiffin earned the GMAC's AQ after winning the Great Midwest women's basketball championship tournament on Saturday afternoon. They will enter the regional tournament as the No. 6 seed, facing Kentucky Wesleyan who earned the No. 3 seed in a repeat of the conference championship game. The winner of that game will face No. 2 Glenville State, who received a first-round bye.

The Dragons are led by the guard duo of Aarion Nichols and Savanah Richards who average 15.7 and 14.3 points per game, respectively. Nichols was All-Conference First Team and Richards was Second Team.

It was a good showing for the GMAC in general as three other schools joined the Dragons. Cedarville, Kentucky Wesleyan, and Walsh also earned bids to the Atlantic Regional following Sunday night's NCAA Selection Show. In addition, future conference member Ashland received the No. 5 seed in the Midwest Region.

The 2021 Division II women's basketball championship will have a reduced bracket size of 48 teams with each regional bracket consisting of six teams. The top two teams will receive a bye into the regional semifinals.

Cedarville received the No. 4 seed and Walsh the No. 5 seed, as they will face off in the regional quarterfinals. The winner of that matchup will take on No. 1 Charleston, who also received a first-round bye.

KWC possesses a dangerous offense as seven different players average between seven and 12 points per game, led by Tahlia Walton (11.5 ppg) and Kaylee Clifford (10.8 ppg), both named to the Great Midwest Second Team.

The regional quarterfinals will take place on Friday, March 12, with the semifinals following on Saturday, March 13 and the finals set for Monday, March 15. All Atlantic Region games will be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio, hosted by Ohio Dominican.

The NCAA Division II Women's Elite eight will also be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center on March 23, 24 and 26.
