The Tiffin University women's basketball team clinched a #5 seed in the GMAC Tournament with a win over Findlay last week, and will face the #4 seed Ohio Dominican in the Quarterfinals on Tuesday, March 2, with a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.

Dragon Details:

The Dragons were 2-0 last week with wins over Ohio Valley and Findlay.

Tiffin's defense is ranked first in the conference as they hold their opponents to 63.3 points per game, putting them fifth in the conference in margin scoring 3.9 more points on average. The Dragons are first in the conference in opponent field goal percentage at 38.9 and first in opponent three-point defense holding opponents to 29.4 percent shooting. 

Aarion Nichols and Savanah Richards lead the offense for Tiffin. Nichols ranks amongst the national leaders in points, rebounds, assists, and steals, averaging 15.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.1 steals and teammate Richards ranks amongst the national leaders in points and assists and averages 14.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.5 steals. 

Jada Tate scores 9.3 points shooting 48.5 percent from the field, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists.   

 

Scouting the Panthers

Ohio Dominican went 1-1 last week with a win over Malone. 

The Panthers have the No. 3 offense in the conference averaging 81.4 points per game, fourth in scoring margin outscoring opponents by 8.1 points on average, are second in three-point field goal percentage at 39.6 percent, and second in three-point defense holding opponents to a 29.9 percent. 

The Panthers have four players in double figures with Angela Troyer leading the pack with 20.9 points, shooting 49.7 percent from the field, 6.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.9 rebounds. Kennedy Schlabach averages 19.1 points shooting 38.6 percent from the field, 2.6 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 1.6 steals, followed by Troyer averaging 15.3 points shooting 54.5 percent from beyond the arc, 5.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.2 steals, and teammate Olivia Fox scoring 11.3 points shooting 51.6 percent from the field, 6.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 0.9 steals. 

The Panthers lead the all-time series against the Dragons 12-6, with their last meeting coming earlier this season on Dec. 5, 2020, when the Dragons won 65-56.
