A huge second half comeback came up just short as Tiffin University fell on a last-second shot against Trevecca Nazarene 67-65.

The Dragons, who trailed at the half 38-27, went on a huge run in the third quarter, outscoring TNU 21-9 to put them ahead 48-47 heading to the fourth quarter.

Leading 53-51 with 6:32 left, TU went on a 7-0 run that pushed their lead to 60-51. They maintained their 9-point lead with just 1:34 left but went just 3 for 10 from the free throw line over that span to open the door for the Trojans.

With the score tied 64-64 with 7 seconds left, the Dragons' Jada Tate drove inside and was fouled. After making one of her free throws, the Dragons held a 65-64 lead but TNU's Keeley Carter drove the floor and made a layup and was fouled with just 0.3 seconds on the clock. The Dragons could not make a shot in the time remaining.

Tiffin's struggles at the free throw line cost them severely. While the Trojans went 14 for 15 from the line, Tiffin finished just 15 for 32.

Tiffin's second half effort nearly got them a comeback victory. After opening on a 14-7 run, TNU bounced back with an 8-0 run that gave them a one point lead after one quarter. The Trojans continued their hot streak in the second quarter, outscoring TU 12-4 to build their halftime lead.

Aarion Nichols led the team with 15 points and 9 rebounds, while Tate also scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Kirsten Williams also totaled 11 points, Jensen Hiegel finished with 10, and Savanah Richards had 8 points with 7 assists. Danelle Bradley also had 9 points off the bench.
