The Tiffin University women's basketball team knocked off conference opponent Ohio Valley 73-42.  

The Dragons shot 43.5 percent from the field and 35 percent from beyond the arc, while TU's defense held the Scots to 24.6 percent from the field and 11.5 percent from beyond the arc. 

The Dragons improve to 9-5 overall and 9-5 in the conference, while the Scots drop to 0-8 overall and 0-8 in the conference.

Tiffin came out hot going on a 6-0 run to start the game. Ohio Valley countered with an 11-4 run to lead 11-10.

The Dragons scored the next five points to lead 15-11 with 3:14 left in the first quarter. 

A strong defensive effort in the second quarter as the Dragons outscored the Scots 17-4 to lead 34-17. Tiffin shot 48.3 percent from the field compared to Ohio Valley's 23.3 percent. 

The two teams were even in the third quarter with Tiffin outscoring Ohio Valley 19-15 in that quarter to lead, 53-32.

The Dragons outscored the Scots in the fourth quarter 20-10 to seal the 73-42 win. 

The Dragons were led by Aarion Nichols who scored 18 points shooting 7-for-13 from the field, grabbing eight boards and dishing two assists, while Jada Tate had 18 points shooting 8-for-12 from the field with five rebounds and one assist. Jada Tate broke her career high in points, her previous career high coming on Jan. 16 against Hillsdale when she had 14 points. 

Jessica Chase tallied 11 points, collected two rebounds and made three assists while Kirsten Williams scored seven points, grabbed six rebounds and added three assists. Chase tied her career high in points with 11 that was set on Dec. 11 against Findlay.
