The Tiffin University women's basketball squad cruised past Ursuline in a 77-59 victory.

Ursuline's 26 turnovers compared to the Dragons 13 was the difference as the Dragons scored 32 points off turnovers. Tiffin shot 40 percent from beyond the arc compared to Ursuline's 26.9 percent.

The Dragons improve to 8-5 overall and 8-5 in the conference, while the Arrows dropped to 6-7 overall and 6-7 in the conference. 

The Dragons took an early 7-0 lead in the first five minutes of play. The Arrows hit two quick three pointers to cut down Tiffin's lead. Tiffin scored seven unanswered points to end the first quarter up 17-6.

TU stayed hot in the second quarter, extending their lead to as many as 18 in posting a 26-8 advantage. The Arrows went on an 8-0 run to cut the lead down to 10.

Strong overall play from the Dragons in the first half led to a double figure point lead, 35-20.

The Arrows opened the scoring in the second half and went on a 10-6 run to cut the lead to single digits. The Dragons ended the quarter on a 9-2 run to lead 50-34 going into the final frame. 

The Dragons came out strong in the fourth quarter, going on a 13-4 run to extend their lead, 63-40.

Ursuline had a late surge outscoring Tiffin 19-14, but the Dragons held on to win 77-59.

Three Dragons hit double figures with Savanah Richards leading the way scoring 23 points and shooting 41.2 percent from the field. She had five steals, grabbed four rebounds and had two assists. Jensen Hiegel tallied 15 points shooting 55.6 percent from the field and grabbing two rebounds followed by Aarion Nichols who collected 10 points, six assists, five rebounds and four steals.

Jada Tate led the team in rebounds with nine, scored seven points and had three assists while teammate Jasmine Watts also added 9 points, eight rebounds and one block. This was her highest point total since Dec. 19 against Malone where she had 11 points. 

Up next the Dragons head to Ohio Valley on Saturday, with the game set to start at 1 p.m.
