Strong second half sends Lady Dragons to 53-42 victory

Tiffin University (7-4, 7-4 GMAC) used a second half comeback to dispatch Lake Erie, as the Dragons won 53-42.

Tiffin opened the game leading after the first quarter 12-7 but the tables quickly turned in the second quarter. The Dragons' offense could not get on track, as Lake Erie rallied for a 17-6 advantage in the period that put them up 24-18 at halftime.

The Dragons managed to regroup after the break, though, shutting down the Storm as they held them to just 25 percent shooting in the game. Overall the Dragons outscored Lake Erie 35-19 in the second half.

The Dragons dominated the third quarter, outscoring LEC 18-8 to take a 36-32 lead into the final period.

Tiffin never let up, pushing its lead to 15 points with 2:00 remaining after a 17-6 run to effectively put the game away.

Tiffin had four in double figures, led by Kirsten Williams with 11 and 4 rebounds. Aarion Nichols had 10 points with 8 rebounds, as did Jada Tate. Savanah Richards also had 10 points.

Danelle Bradley added 5 points and 5 rebounds off the bench, while Jensen Hiegel had 4 points with 8 rebounds.
