Trailing by 25 points at halftime, Tiffin University's women's basketball team (4-3, 4-3 GMAC) staged a massive comeback in the second half but came up just short in a 79-65 loss at Cedarville.

Tiffin trailed 46-21 at halftime, as the Yellow Jackets shot a blistering 62 percent to Tiffin's 36 percent. But all that changed with a stunning third quarter, when the Dragons outscored Cedarville 25-5. 

The Dragons shot 56 percent in the period while holding CU to just 16 percent from the floor. The Dragons defense did not allow a point to the Yellow Jackets until the 4:40 mark, opening on a 10-0 run to start the half. 

TU finished the quarter strong, closing with a 15-5 run to erase the halftime deficit and trail just 51-46.

The Dragons continued their hot streak into the final quarter, going on an 8-1 run to take the lead 54-52 with 6:58 left. They held the lead for nearly a minute, leading 56-54 with 6:00 remaining before the Yellow Jackets jumped back ahead. 

Trailing 62-61 with 3:41 to go, Cedarville took control, closing with a 17-4 run that featured 10 points scored from the free throw line.

The first half was tough for the Dragons. Trailing 11-8 to open the game, the Yellow Jackets went on a big 17-2 run that catapulted them to a 28-10 lead. They eventually finished the first period with a commanding 32-12 lead.

Cedarville continued its hot play in the second quarter, opening with a 14-5 burst to take a massive 46-17 lead. Tiffin's 11 turnovers led to 15 points for the Yellow Jackets in the half.

The Dragons' strong second half brought the overall statistics much closer. Cedarville outshot TU 51 percent to 43 percent while Tiffin won the rebounding battlle 32-26. The Dragons connected on 17 of 20 free throws but could not get on track from beyond the arc, hitting just 2 of 15 three pointers.

Aarion Nichols had another strong game, totaling 21 points with 9 rebounds, while Savanah Richards also had 16 points. Jensen Hiegel finished with 9 points and 4 rebounds, Jada Tate had 7 points with 7 rebounds, and Jessica Chase had 6 points with 3 rebounds.
