Dragons Overpowered at Walsh

NORTH CANTON, Ohio - Tiffin women's basketball ran into a tough task on Wednesday night, facing GMAC Preseason No. 1 pick Walsh and falling to the Cavaliers 78-52.

Tiffin falls to 3-2 on the year through five games, while Walsh improves to 3-0. Of Walsh's three wins, the Dragons held the Cavaliers to their lowest scoring output of the year, as they tallied 92 points in each of their other two games.

Savanah Richards led the Dragons with 17 points, followed by Aarion Nichols with 10 points, four rebounds, and four steals. Jasmine Watts added eight points and four boards off the bench for Tiffin.

Tiffin struggled on the offensive end, shooting 33.3% from the field and 20.8% from deep. Walsh also took the rebounding battle, securing 47 to TU's 38.

Walsh jumped on the Dragons from the beginning, taking leads of 21-11 after the first quarter and 44-26 at halftime.

Tiffin outscored Walsh in the fourth quarter, but it was much too little, too late as the Cavaliers earned the 26-point win.

The Dragons have one game remaining on their schedule before the holiday break, returning home on Saturday to host Malone at 1:00 p.m. Tiffin already made a visit to Malone just one week ago today and took down the Pioneers on the road 69-61.
