Dragons Drop Close Affair at ODU

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Tiffin women's basketball led by three after three quarters of play, but Ohio Dominican came back in the final period to take a 77-71 victory from the Dragons on Saturday.

The Panthers opened the fourth frame with ten straight points before Savanah Richards stopped the run with a layup. Tiffin would still have life, though, as after trailing by five with just over a minute left, Richards made another layup and Aarion Nichols got the ball back with a great defensive play before draining a step-back three to tie the game at 71.

Ohio Dominican countered with a triple of their own, however, and would make a couple of free throws in the final seconds to take the six-point victory.

The Dragons won the turnover battle on the afternoon, forcing 18 while committing just 11, leading to a 20-9 advantage in points off turnovers.

Four Dragons were in double figures, led by Aarion Nichols with 15 points, five rebounds, and five assists.

Savanah Richards, Brooke Wesner, and Jada Tate all had 13 points for Tiffin, with Tate also grabbing six boards and recording three assists.

Tiffin will look to bounce back on Wednesday night when they host Ursuline at 5:30 p.m.
