Walsh Pulls Away from Tiffin in Second Half

TIFFIN, Ohio - Tiffin women's basketball kept pace with Walsh in the opening two periods on Saturday, but a big second-half run from the Cavaliers put the game out of reach as the visitors won 89-58.

The Dragons outrebounded the Cavaliers 44-41 in the game, but struggled keeping control of the ball with 24 turnovers. Tiffin also outscored Walsh off the bench, with the Dragon reserves scoring 23 points to the Cavaliers' 19.

Danelle Bradley was a big part of that advantage, tallying 12 points and a season-high eight boards off the bench. Aarion Nichols led the Dragons with a well-rounded 13 points, six rebounds, and six assists, while Jasmine Watts chipped in nine points, six rebounds, and two blocks.

After Walsh jumped out to a quick 8-2 lead, the Dragons roared back with an 8-2 run of their own to cut the deficit to two, 12-10, on a Nichols jumper.

Tiffin stayed within three on a triple from Brooke Wesner with 7:22 left in the first half, but the Cavaliers slowly extended their advantage to 12, 38-26, at the break.

Walsh came out hot to start the third quarter, outscoring the Dragons 25-9 in the period to put the game out of reach.

The Dragons look to even their GMAC record to 2-2 on Monday when they host Malone at 5:30 p.m.
