Tiffin University (3-6, 1-4 GLIAC) couldn't overcome the twin problems of its own shooting woes and Grand Valley's strong second half shooting, as the Dragons fell on the road 85-39.
The Dragons shot 25 percent overall, including 23 percent in the opening two quarters. Midway through the first quarter the Lakers went on an 8-0 run that pushed their lead to 15-5.
They benefited from another run in the second quarter, when the Dragons suffered through a 11-3 Lakers run that advanced their lead to 32-16. TU trailed at the half 32-19.
The Lakers then took off in the second half, scorching the nets at a 66 percent clip as they raced away with the victory.
Overall the Lakers outshot TU 55 percent to 25 percent and held a 42-29 edge in rebounding.
TU also fell behind in scoring in the paint 20-4, while 20 turnovers led to a 22-3 edge for GVSU in points off turnovers.
Allie Miller led TU in scoring with 8 points, while Sarah Cummings followed with 7 points. Kristen Massey also had 5 points and team-high 8 rebounds.
TU now plays at Ferris State on Dec. 19 at 10:30 am.
