Dragons get first win 70-63

Tiffin University (1-2) put together a solid lead in the third quarter, held off a Cedarville charge, and controlled the boards down the stretch to pull out a 70-63 win for their first victory of the season.

The game was a strong second half showcase for senior Bre Nauman, who shattered the 1000 point barrier and finished with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Nauman's strong play, including hitting 3 treys, helped carry the Dragons throughout the final two quarters.

TU spread the offense out, with seven different players scoring 6 or more points. Ali Schirmer also finished in double figures with 12 points.Allie Miller also had 9 points and 7 rebounds, while Deidre McKay had 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Kristen Massey, Tiggie Sanabria, and Sarah Cummings all had 6 points.

Tiffin held a 46-37 rebounding edge, including an impressive 17 offensive rebounds.

Tiffin opened with a solid 20-15 edge in the first quarter, then enjoyed their strongest quarter in the next 10 minutes, outscoring the Yellow Jackets 17-9 to take a 37-24 lead at halftime.

Cedarville stormed out in the third quarter, outscoring TU 21-11 as they eventually tied the game 50-50 with 8:02 remaining in the game. TU regrouped, however, outscoring Cedarville 20-13 the rest of the way for the win.
