Dragons falter at Findlay 75-70

The Tiffin University women's basketball team fought hard throughout their game against the University of Findlay, but a scoring drought in the 3rd quarter allowed the Oilers to take control of the game and win 75-70.

Tiffin trailed early in the 1st quarter, falling behind 9-3. The Dragons scrapped their way back into the game, winning every 50/50 ball and taking a 14-13 lead with 03:00 to play in the quarter. In the 2nd quarter, Findlay fired back, scoring 22 points while holding Tiffin to 16 points. The Dragons leaned heavily on the 3-point shot in the 1st half, connecting on 6 of 14 attempts. The Oilers were able to grab a late bucket before the half to tie the game 39-39 at the break.

In the 3rd quarter, The Oilers were dominant. Findlay held Tiffin to only 9 points, while scoring 18. TU headed to the final quarter down 57-48. In the final quarter, Tiffin found their offense again, knocking down three triples. Kristen Massey, having not scored the entire game, poured in eight points in the 4th. With 65 seconds remaining, Ali Schirmer connected on her 4th 3-point jumper of the game, tying the game 68-68. Findlay regained the lead, and hit free throws down the stretch, defeating Tiffin 75-70.

Schirmer led Tiffin in scoring, pouring in 20 points off the bench. Tiffin connected on 10 3-pointers, and held a 37-35 lead on the boards. 

The Dragons fall to 6-17 overall and 4-14 in GLIAC play.
