Tiffin University (23-25) pulled out an 8-5 13-inning victory over Northwood to keep alive at the G-MAC Softball Championships in Findlay, Ohio.

The game featured a gutsy performance by Claire Feldkamp, who battled for all 13 innings and allowed 4 earned runs with 10 strikeouts for the win.

Down 2-0 in the sixth inning, Taylor Whalen singled while Maci Head walked. Molly Koesters then followed with a double for one run, while Tara Gall then singled in two more runs. Maddie Woods tripled, and Aubrie Harper then hit a fielder's choice to get the run in as TU took a 4-2 lead.

Things nearly came undone in the bottom of the seventh, as Northwood scored two runs with two out to send the game to extra innings.

Both teams had chances but TU broke through in a big way in the 13th inning. With Katie Deardorff on second, Head singled to break the tie. Koesters then followed with a huge two-run home run, while Gall then followed with another blast as TU tallied four runs.

In the bottom of the inning, Northwood tried to rally again. With a run in and two on with just one out, Feldkamp posted two strikeouts to end the game in TU's favor.

TU opened the day with a 10-2 loss to Findlay in five innings.

Feldkamp lasted just 1.1 innings, allowing 6 earned runs. Isabella St. Peter finished with 2.2 innings, allowing 2 earned runs.

Findlay scored three in the first and five in the second to take a big early lead. TU got its lone runs in the fifth inning when Whalen doubled and came home on Head's home run.

TU will now take on Trevecca Nazarene at 12:30 pm on May 5. A win there would send the Dragons to another game at 3 pm.
