Tiffin sweeps Dominican on day two in Florida

Tiffin University (4-5) got two wins against Dominican, winning 8-0 and 12-2 in two dominant performances.

In the opener, Isabella St. Peter went 5 innings and allowed just 5 hits in the shutout with 6 strikeouts.

TU scored in four of the five innings and put it away with a walk-off run in the fifth. In the first, Taylor Whalen walked and came home on Katie Deardorff's double to get TU on the board.

In the second, Caitlin Wilson singled and stole second. Aubrie Harper then singled her home and later scored herself on an error by the pitcher.

In the fourth, Wilson doubled, Harper singled, and Michelle Rodkey drove them both in with a single. Bailey Hamilton then singled and Libby Schaadt hit a pinch-hit, two-out double for two more runs.

TU ended it in the fifth when Maya Miles singled, Haley Miller walked, and Madie Legg's sacrifice fly pushed the final run across.

Overall Wilson and Harper had two hits apiece.

In the nightcap, Claire Feldkamp got the win with 6 innings of four-hit work, allowing no earned runs with 8 strikeouts.

TU had a big day offensively, banging out 13 hits and stealing 10 bases. 

In the first, Deardorff singled and came home on Molly Koesters's home run.

In the fourth, Harper reached on an error and then stole second. Mackenzie Dietrick then walked and Rodkey singled for an RBI. After stealing second, Whalen then singled and stole second herself. Lydia Kobie then singled for 2 RBI.

In the fifth, Wilson singled and stole second. Dietrick then singled her home for the inning's lone run.

In a big sixth inning, Hamilton singled and advanced on a stolen base and wild pitch. Whalen then walked and stole a base, with both runners coming home on Kobie's double. Deardorff then drove home Kobie with another double, as did Koesters with another double. Wilson singled and stole a base, and two more runs scored on an error at shortstop.

Overall Deardorff, Kobie, Whalen, and Wilson all had two hits, with Kobie totaling 4 RBI.
