Tiffin University (2-2) posted a 6-4 win over Parkside but could not hold on against Missouri S&T in a 10-9 loss at the Music City Invitational.

Against Parkside, TU got all its runs in the first two innings. Maddie Woods singled and came home on Katie Deardorff's double. After Molly Koesters walked, Maci Head doubled to drive in two more runs and put TU ahead 3-0.

In the second, Bailey Hamilton singled and was followed by a bunt single from Taylor Whalen. Woods then singled home a run, and Deardorff followed with a double for two more runs.

Parkside got two runs in the fifth and two more in the seventh but could not catch Claire Feldkamp, who picked up the win with 7 innings of work. She allowed 7 hits and 4 earned runs.

Aubrie Harper had 3 hits with a double, while Hamilton also had 3 hits. Deardorff had two doubles and 3 RBI, while Head drove in two runs with a double. Woods also had two hits.

In game two against Missouri S&T, the Dragons jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two innings and also led 9-5 in the 6th but could not hold on for the win.

Isabella St. Peter started and went 5.2 innings, allowing 5 earned runs. Feldkamp came in and pitched 1.1 innings of relief, taking the loss while allowing 2 earned runs.

In the first, Whalen and Woods singled while Deardorff was hit by a pitch. An error at third base let one run in, and Harper followed with a double for 2 RBI.

In the second, Woods walked and Deardorff singled. Tara Gall got one run in with a sacrifice fly, and Harper drove in another run with a single.

TU added more runs in the third. Whalen doubled, Woods singled, and Deardorff walked to load the bases. Gall's fielder's choice allowed two runs to score as TU expanded their lead.

TU got its final run in the fifth inning. Deardorff singled and stole second. An error at second base allowed her to score.

MST staged its comeback with three runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh. An error at third base for TU with two outs led to three unearned runs that brought MST to within 9-8.

After two runs scored in the top of the seventh for the Miners, TU tried to rally. Deardorff and Gall both walked with one out but a pop out at second base and right field ended the threat and the game.

Overall Whalen had 3 hits with a double, Harper had 2 hits with a double for 3 RBI, and Gall added 3 RBI.

Woods, Deardorff, and Caitlin Wilson all had 2 hits, while Hamilton added a double.
