Tiffin University (22-27) fell 5-3 to Trevecca Nazarene in the opening round of the GMAC Softball Championships played at Findlay, Ohio.

The loss sets up a game against Ursuline in the consolation bracket, which will be played on May 6 due to rain shortening the opening day's schedule.

Things started off on the wrong foot for the Dragons, as Claire Feldkamp allowed three runs in the first inning. TNU tallied two more in the third inning to put the Dragons in a 5-0 hole early.

TU scored all three of its runs off of home runs. Maddie Woods and Maci Head both drilled solo shots in the sixth inning to make it 5-2, and Kennedy Rorar added another blast in the seventh inning but the Dragons could not manage to get the tying run to the plate.

Feldkamp took the loss, allowing 5 earned runs over 6 innings of work.
