Dragons drop pair of games to Chargers

Tiffin University (13-17, 2-2 GMAC) had a rough day at the diamond, falling to Hillsdale 5-0 and 13-1 in five innings.

In the opener, TU managed just six singles and placed only two runners at second base over the seven innings. 

Claire Feldkamp took the loss, allowing 9 hits (all singles) for five earned runs. She walked 6 and fanned 6.

Taylor Whalen had two hits for TU, as did Kirsten Georges. Maci Head and Caitlin Wilson also had singles.

In game two, Hillsdale exploded early, getting six runs in the first inning and five more in the third. 

Sarah Klein took the loss, lasting one inning and allowing 6 earned runs. Shelbey Spurlock relieved for 2 innings, allowing 2 earned runs, while Isabella St. Peter finished the final 2 innings and gave up no hits.

TU again had 6 singles. The Dragons scored their lone run in the third inning. Katie Deardorff and Taylor Whalen both singled, and an error at shortstop on a ground ball by Kaylee Savage allowed the run to score.

TU had some chances over the final two innings, loading the bases in both the fourth and the fifth, but could not manage any further runs.
