Comeback victories cap off TU's spring trip

Tiffin University (8-9) had two comeback victories to cap off their spring trip, beating Minnesota State Mankato 5-2 and Millersville 4-3 in 9 innings.

Against Mankato, the Dragons scored all five runs in the 6th inning. Trailing 1-0, Kaylee Savage walked and was followed by singles from Maddie Legg and Aubrie Harper. Maci Head then drove in a run with a single, with Legg also coming around to score on a throwing error by the first baseman. Harper then scored on a wild pitch. Kirsten Georges singled and moved up on a wild pitch. She then reached third on Faith Renwick's single. Taylor Whalen then got Georges home on a groundout to second to make the score 5-1, Tiffin.

Sarah Klein finished her pitching gem with 7 innings, allowing a run in the bottom of the 7th but otherwise shutting down Mankato. She allowed just four hits and 2 earned runs while fanning 7.

Whalen and Harper both had two hits in the game, with Whalen getting a double.

Against Millersville, the win was even more dramatic. Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the seventh, Kennedy Rorar, Hallie Sheehan and Georges all singled. With two outs, an error at shortstop on Savage's grounder tied the game and sent it into extra innings.

TU again came back in the bottom of the 9th. Trailing 3-1, Sheehan reached on an error. Georges and Whalen both singled to load the bases. Maddie Woods then singled to make the score 3-2. With two out, Legg laced a two-run single to win the game for the Dragons.

Claire Feldkamp also pitched a superb game, going 9 innings and allowing 5 hits, one earned run, and fanning 13.
