Jeff Nickerson has resigned as Head Softball Coach at Tiffin University.

Nickerson, who will pursue family business ventures, coached for 14 seasons at Tiffin, the longest tenure of any TU softball coach, while also amassing a school-record 321 victories.

Nickerson leaves TU with a career mark of 489-403-1. While at Tiffin University, Coach Nickerson compiled a 321-290-1 mark along with a 180-148-1 combined conference record between the GLIAC and GMAC, a 116-69 mark at the Paradiso Athletic Complex, and a 145-146 record on the road. On April 9, 2019, Nickerson earned his 286th career victory, setting a new school record for softball wins.

The Dragons, under his direction, made their mark in the GLIAC, GMAC, and nationally, as TU reached the NCAA National Tournament twice and made the GLIAC/GMAC playoffs in eight of the last nine seasons. The squad also won the 2011 regular season and GLIAC Tournament Championship and entered the NCAA Regional as the top seed. He was named GLIAC Coach of the Year in 2011. He coached 7 All-Region honorees and 40 All-Conference players during his 14 seasons.

"I would like to thank Tiffin University and Lonny Allen for the opportunity to lead the Dragon Softball program for the last 14 years," said Nickerson. "I also want to thank all my current and past assistant coaches, athletic trainers, and staff for all your support and for making the past 14 years a great experience. To all my current and past players and their families, I cannot begin to thank you enough for allowing me to be your coach. Thank you all for the great memories, and always remember to be great in everything that you do. Have fun! Play hard! Love your teammates! Let's go!!!"

"I would like to thank Jeff for his dedication to the Tiffin University softball program and the athletic department," said Athletic Director Lonny Allen. "His contribution to TU has been significant. We want to wish him the best in his future endeavors and in the next chapter in his and his family's lives. He left our program in a great position for success and we can't thank him enough."
