Two great pitching performances resulted in a split for Tiffin University (13-13, 7-5 GMAC), as they beat Cedarville 4-2 and lost 1-0.

The win came with Claire Feldkamp on the mound. Feldkamp went 7 innings and allowed just 4 hits and 1 earned run.

She got good support as TU banged out 12 hits, keeping the pressure on Cedarville throughout the game.

In the second trailing 1-0, Kaylee Savage got TU on the board with a home run. Heidi Marshall and Kristen Georges followed with singles, with Maddie Woods driving in another run with a double.

TU increased their lead to 3-1 when, with two outs, Skylar Legg singled, Savage walked, and Marshall got the RBI with a single.

Another run came across the plate in the fourth inning. Woods singled and was sacrificed to second by Brooke Lambert. Laura Teunion-Smith then drove in the run with another single.

Meanwhile, Feldkamp put it in cruise control for most of the game, retiring 16 straight at one point. In the 7th inning, Cedarville picked up a run and had the tying run at the plate with two outs but Feldkamp got a strikeout to end the game.

Georges had 3 hits, while Woods had two hits with a double, Teunion-Smith had two hits with a triple, and Marshall also had two hits.

In game two, Victoria Edwards allowed just two hits and no earned runs while fanning 6 over 6 innings, but it wasn't enough as TU collected just four singles.

CU got its run in the third when an error at third base on a sacrifice allowed a runner to cross the plate.

TU put a rally together in the 7th inning. After managing to get just two runners in scoring position in the first six innings, Savage walked, and an error at second base gave TU runners at first and third with just one out. The Dragons could not get the big hit, though, popping out to second and grounding out to the pitcher to end the game.
