Tiffin University (9-9, 4-2 GMAC) got a great mound effort from Shelbey Spurlock, leading to a split at Malone.

Spurlock's 4 hit 3-0 shutout of the Pioneers won game two for TU, which had 10 hits in support. Spurlock went 7 innings, fanning 7 in the effort.

TU got single runs in the second, third, and fifth innings. The Dragons first got on the board when Heidi Marshall singled with two outs and came around to score on Kaylee Savage's double.

In the third, again with two outs, Brooke Lambert tripled and came home when Laura Teunion-Smith singled to make it 2-0.

Their final run came in the fifth. Lambert doubled and came around to score after Teunion-Smith's single was followed by a throwing error by the shortstop.

Lambert had three hits with a double and triple, while Teunion-Smith and Marshall each had two hits. Taylor Whalen and Savage also had doubles.

In the opener, TU fell 9-2. Claire Feldkamp took the loss, going 3 innings and allowing 4 earned runs while fanning 5. Libby Schaadt finished over 3 innings, fanning 6 while allowing 5 earned runs.

TU managed just four hits in the game. They got single runs in the fifth and sixth innings. 

In the fifth, Marshall singled and Savage doubled. Marshall then came home on a Bailey Hamilton groundout to second base.

TU's final run came with two outs. Teunion-Smith doubled and Jaelen Kelly brought her home with a single.
