Tiffin University used a couple big innings to sweep Lourdes 7-3 and 8-0 in five innings.
In the opener TU scored six runs in the 5th inning to break the game open. The eruption made a winner out of reliever Libby Schaadt, who pitched the final 3 innings, allowing just one hit.
Victoria Edwards started and allowed one earned run on 2 hits over 2 innings of work. Shelbey Spurlock relieved, tossing 2 innings of 2 hit ball.
TU got on the board in the 3rd when Taylor Whalen walked, stole second, and came home on Brooke Lambert's double.
In the 5th inning, Faith Renwick doubled. Lambert drove in another run with a single and then stole second. Maddie Woods singled for another run. Laura Teunion-Smith followed with another RBI single. The train kept rolling after a wild pitch and two walks loaded the bases. Kirsten Georges singled to drive in another run, and Caitlin Wilson then tripled to bring in two more as TU wrapped up their scoring for the day.
Lambert finished with 3 hits with a double and 2 RBI, while Teunion-Smith also had 2 hits with an RBI. Wilson had a triple for 2 RBI, and Renwick also doubled.
In the nightcap, TU got all its runs in the 2nd inning. Sarah Klein started and got the win, fanning 5 over 2 innings while allowing 3 hits. Isabella St. Peter came on to pitch the next 1.2 innings, fanning 3 more. Claire Feldkamp finished the game, fanning 3 over 1.1 innings.
In the second inning, Heidi Marshall singled and stole second. Hallie Sheehan doubled to drive in the first run. Bailey Hamilton then walked. Lambert followed with a double for 2 RBI. Woods then singled before Teunion-Smith doubled for two more runs. Kaylee Savage walked, and Marshall had her second hit of the inning to drive in two more runs. After Sheehan walked, the Dragons pulled off a double steal, with Marshall crossing the plate for TU's eighth run.
Overall Lambert had 2 more hits with a double and 2 RBI while Marshall also had 2 hits for 2 RBI. Teunion-Smith doubled for 2 RBI, while Jaelen Kelly and Sheehan had doubles.
