Dragons post 9-2 win over Glenville State to gain split

Tiffin University got the bats working in its game against Glenville State, winning 9-2 after falling 5-2 to Shepherd earlier in the day.

The Dragons (1-3) benefited from five runs in the first inning and three more in the fifth to put the game away.

Kaylee Savage struck the big blow in the first. After a Laura Teunion-Smith double, Savage drilled a two-run home run to get TU on the board. Logan Bush then walked and was followed by Maddie Woods's single. Heidi Marshall then singled another run home. After Marshall stole second, Skylar Legg singled home two more runs to give TU a 5-0 lead.

In the fifth, Savage reached on a single and was followed by a pinch hit single from Bailey Hamilton. Woods then singled home two more runs, with a third run coming home on Legg's sacrifice fly.

TU tacked on its last run in the sixth inning. Brooke Lambert walked and was sacrificed to second. Savage then got her third RBI of the day with a single.

Sarah Klein got the win with two innings of four-hit relief. Libby Schaadt started and went 3 innings, allowing one earned run. Claire Feldkamp finished the game with two innings of 2 hit ball.

Savage finished with 3 hits and 3 RBI with a home run, while Marshall also had 3 hits and an RBI. Woods had 2 hits and 2 RBI, while Lambert and Teunion-Smith had doubles. Legg also had 3 RBI on the day.
