Dragons end spring trip with pair of losses to Wayne State, Adelphi

Tiffin University (2-12) finished its spring trip with games against Wayne State and Adelphi, falling to the Warriors 7-2 and Adelphi 10-1 in five innings.

Against the Warriors, the Dragons fell behind 1-0 in the second inning but quickly took the lead when Madie Legg followed Hayley Kobie's single with a two-run home run that propelled TU ahead 2-1.

The Warriors kept up the offensive attack throughout the game, though, tallying 11 hits while taking advantage of fielding errors by the Dragons in scoring five runs in the fifth inning (three unearned) to retake the lead for good. They added another insurance run in the 6th.

Tiffin could not get runs across, putting only two runners in scoring position over the final five innings.

Victoria Edwards took the loss, allowing 3 earned runs on 11 hits over 7 innings. 

Legg had two hits with a home run for 2 RBI, while Kobie also had a two hits with a double.

Against Adelphi, the Dragons collected just two hits, one of them being a Legg solo home run in the fourth inning. 

Adelphi jumped out to a 5-0 lead and then tacked on two more runs in the 4th and three more in the 5th to put the game away in five innings.

Sarah Klein took the loss over 1.1 innings, allowing 3 earned runs. Shelbey Spurlock pitched 3 innings in relief, allowing 4 earned runs with 4 walks.
