It was business as usual of late for Tiffin University (21-12), as the Dragons posted their sixth straight win with an 8-0 and 5-2 sweep of Urbana on a record-setting day at Paradiso Fields.

TU, which has won 8 of their last 10, broke a school record in the five-inning 8-0 opener, as the victory gave Head Coach Jeff Nickerson his 286th career win, breaking the record by Hall of Fame coach Brian Campbell for most softball coaching wins at TU.

TU banged out 10 hits in the opener. With two outs in the first, Gabrielle Hess singled and came home on Hayley Kobie's double. Chloe Swaisgood then followed with a single to drive in another run and make it 2-0.

TU got on the board again in the second. Abbey Zedaker was hit by a pitch and was followed by Kirsten Georges's single. After being sacrificed up a base, Jamie Sevenish singled to drive in another run.

In the fourth TU got two more runs. Zedaker singled and Georges reached on a fielder's choice. After advancing a base on a groundout to second, Sevenish drove home another run with a single. Hess then got another run in on a sacrifice fly.

TU put the game away in dramatic fashion in the fifth inning. Swaisgood doubled, and an error on Kaylee Savage's single allowed Swaisgood to race home. An error at second allowed another run to score, and the self destruction continued for the Blue Knights as another error at third base kept the inning alive for TU. A sacrifice and a lineout to shortstop gave TU two outs still needing a run to put the win away. Sevenish came through yet again, drilling a long single for the walkoff victory.

Jeff Nickerson set a new career wins record for Tiffin University. Sarah Klein got the win, improving to 12-6 with 5 innings of 5 hit ball with 7 strikeouts.

Sevenish has 3 hits for 3 RBI, while Swaisgood also had 2 hits with a double. Kobie also had a double.

Game two was much closer. After allowing an unearned run in the second inning, the Dragons came right back to plate two in the bottom of the frame. Swaisgood singled and, with two outs, Chelsey Trusty drilled a triple to drive in a run. McKenzie Frame's single made it 2-1, Tiffin.

TU added to their lead in the third and fifth innings. In the third, Sevenish singled, stole second, advanced to third after a strikeout got away from the Urbana catcher, and then came home on a passed ball.

In the fifth, Brooke Lambert tripled and was followed by an infield single by Sevenish and another stolen base. Kobie then brought Lambert home with a sac fly, while Heidi Marshall got another run home with a sacrifice bunt to make it 5-1.

In the seventh, Victoria Edwards tried to finish the game. After an error allowed another unearned run and made it 5-2, with the tying run at the plate, Edwards got a line out to center field to end the game.

Edwards got the win, going the distance and allowing 7 hits with no earned runs.

Sevenish had 3 more hits, while Lambert and Trusty had triples.
