Reynolds' gem highlights Tiffin's split with Walsh

Tiffin University (16-24, 3-12 GLIAC) got a strong outing from Kimmy Reynolds, cruising to a 5-0 victory before fallin the nightcap at Walsh 6-1.

Reynolds tossed a two-hitter over 7 innings, fanning 8 and walking just 2 as TU got the win in the opener. The Dragons gave her support, scoring twice in the second and third innings and tacking on another run in the 7th.

In the second, Jamie Sevenish doubled and was followed by Libby Crow's walk. Sierra Besser-Paul then got a single and RBI, while Michelle Poe got the second run across the plate with a sacrifice fly.

TU got two more runs in the third. Brooke Lambert walked and then stole second. After Lindsay Graves reached on an error at second, TU pulled a double steal, with Lambert swiping home. April Bennett followed with a single and RBI.

In the seventh, Crow reached on an error at third and then stole second and third. Allyson Rock made the most of the opportunity, singling to drive in TU's final run.

Sevenish led the Dragons with 3 hits including a double and triple.

In the nightcap, Tiffany Snell could not escape the third inning, as the Cavaliers totaled 5 runs (4 earned) in the first three innings.

After Walsh got two runs in the second inning, the Dragons got one back in the bottom of the inning. Kate-Lynn Urgo reached on a fielder's choice and was joined on base by Lambert after her single. Bennett then singled to drive in TU's lone run of the game.

The Dragons collected 10 hits overall, all singles, but could manage no more runs.

Snell took the loss, lasting just 2.1 innings. Bennett finished up, tossing 4.2 innings and allowing no earned runs.

Crow, Besser-Paul, and Poe all had 2 hits for TU.
