At Walsh Jesuit High School, Nathaniel was a four-year letterwinner in both cross country and track & field. His numerous accolades include 4x State Qualifier, 3x Cross Country Team MVP, Cross Country Rookie of the Year, 2x T&F Distance MVP, and T&F Team MVP. Academically, he was also an honor roll student.
