Adams hits personal 100-meter record with 5th place finish

Malachi Adams set a new 100-meter standard at the NCAA Outdoor National Championships at CSU-Pueblo.

Adams crossed the line in a blistering time of 10.07 seconds, setting a new personal record while taking 5th place. 

It was one of two First Team All-American performances from Adams, who also teamed with Dylan Randall, Tajarie Arthurton, and Widchard Guervil to finish 7th in the 4x100 relay in 39.84.

Adams has accumulated big honors over his first two seasons at TU, as he most recently finished 4th in the 60-meter finals at indoor nationals, earning First Team All-American honors with a time of 6.69. Adams has two All-American honors in indoor competition, finishing second overall in the 60 meters in 2022. He now has two more All-American citations in outdoor competition, giving him four overall. 

Jacob McPherson also earned First Team All-American honors in the shot put, finishing 7th overall with a throw of 17.55 meters. This marks McPherson's fifth All-American honor, his third in outdoor competition. He also earned First Team honors two days ago in the hammer throw with a fourth-place mark.
