Tiffin men's track travels to Iowa, Findlay

Tiffin University's men's track and field team competed at Iowa and Findlay.

The men finished 5th of 11 teams at Iowa and 2nd at Findlay.

At Iowa, Illinois State won with 115 points followed by Illinois with 106. Iowa had 53.5, Minnesota State had 49.5, and Tiffin tied with Wisconsin with 49 points.

The Dragons had five provisional performances including two event winners. Collin Jasin won the pole vault with a provo mark of 5.20 meters, while Malachi Adams also won the 60 meters in a blistering 6.77 seconds for another NCAA mark.

All three of TU's weight throw placers hit provo marks. Jacob McPherson was 2nd in the event with 19.91 meters, while Benedict Draghi was 7th with 18.54 and Thomas Nelson was 8th with 18.23.

McPherson was also 6th in the shot put with 15.92 while Draghi was 8th with 15.84.

Other top placers for TU included Dylan Randall (6th in 60 with 6.89), Adams (8th in 200 in 22.30), Josiah Gadson (7th in long jump with 7.07), Lewis Cotterill (8th in 800 in 1:55.64), and the 4x400 relay team (6th in 3:19.95).

At Findlay, Octavious Joe took first place in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.60 and he won the 400 meters with a time of 51.59.

The Dragons took four of the top five spots in the shot put with Matthew Lamb leading the pack at 16.12 meters in first place, Kevin Hornbeak was second with a mark of 15.70 meters, Ryan Cook finished third with a mark of 15.47 meters, and Brock Carlson came in fifth with a mark of 14.78  meters.

Garrett Hoepf was second in the high jump with a mark of 1.93 meters.

Four Dragons made the finals of the 60-meter dash. Tajarie Arthurton placed second with a time of 6.86, Te'sean Jefferson came in fifth with a time of 7.08, Stephen Powell finished sixth with a time of 7.15, and Gabriel Maximo came in seventh with a time of 7.17.

Jaylen Lasseter took first place in the mile run with a time of 4:24.37, Anthony Sasso finished third with a time of 4:24.72, and Jaden Wimbush was fourth with a time of 4:29.26.

Joshua Bishop took first place in the 3000-meter run with a time of 8:44.78 and Chase Drange finished fifth with a time of 9:58.25.
