Men’s Track and Field Claim First in the Akron Quad Meet

The Tiffin University Men's Track and Field team came in first place at the Akron Quad meet with 138 points, beating host Akron by two points. 

Jacob McPherson came in first in the weight throw, hitting an NCAA DII provisional mark with a mark of 20.74 meters. McPherson took first place in the shot put, hitting another NCAA DII provisional mark with a throw of 17.85 meters.

Benedict Draghi finished second in the weight throw, hitting an NCAA DII provisional mark with a toss of 18.70 meters. Thomas Nelson was fourth with a throw of 17.69 meters, Vincent Volpe was fifth with a throw of 16.81 meters, and Carson Hodson came in seventh with a throw of 16.28 meters. 

Collin Jasin placed third in the pole vault, hitting an NCAA DII provisional mark with a vault of 4.85 meters, Cade Carter finished fourth with a mark of 4.45 meters, and Josiah Gadson was sixth with a mark of 4.30 meters. 

Matt Lamb placed second in the shot put with a throw of 16.11 meters, Benedict Draghi finished fourth with a mark of 15.90 meters, and Kevin Hornbeak was fifth with a throw of 15.63 meters. 

Octavious Joe took first place in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.53 and Christopher Finklea came in third with a time of 8.86. 

Four Dragons placed in the top ten of the 400-meter dash as Michael McNeil led the pack with a time of 49.89, Drevon Trapp placed fifth with a time of 50.36, Reyhan Muhammad came in seventh with a time of 50.52, and Octavious Joe finished ninth with a time of 50.94.

Nine of the top 11 finishers in the 60-meter dash were from TU as Kyron Rogers took first place with a time of 6.93, Te'Sean Jefferson came in second with a time of 7.02, and Stephen Powell finished fourth with a time of 7.08. 

Michael McNeil won the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.15, Kyron Rogers finished third with a time of 22.64, and Simeon Hunter came in fourth with a time of 22.73. 

Elijah Miller placed second in the men's long jump with a mark of 6.72 meters, Jake Price finished sixth with a mark of 6.07 meters, and Javier Sanchez came in seventh with a mark of 6.06 meters. 

Terrance Wilson took fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 12.45 meters. 

Garrett Hoepf placed first in the high jump with a mark of 1.85 meters and teammate Jacob Goudy was second with a mark of 1.80 meters.
