Track squad competes at Ohio Northern, Georgia Tech

Tiffin University's men's track and field squad competed at Ohio Northern and Georgia Tech April 22-23.

A smaller squad competed at Georgia Tech but had some impressive results. Anthony Nickerson set a new school record in the 800 meters while also hitting a provisional mark in 1:50.55, taking 5th overall. Nathaniel Ondracek also hit a provo mark in the 800 in 1:51.60 (10th).

Collin Jasin also hit a provisional standard in the pole vault, taking 2nd with 4.85 meters. Cade Carter (4th) also hit the same mark for a provo finish.

The 4x100 relay team also placed 4th in 41.13, while Benedict Draghi was 4th in the discus with 49.85.

At ONU, TU finished 2nd of 11 teams. Ohio Northern was tops with 190 while the Dragons had 141. Albion was third with 73.

Dean Johnson had a pair of first place finishes, winning the 110 hurdles in 14.79 while also placing first in the 400 hurdles in 57.65.

Also placing first on the day were Joshua Bishop in the steeplechase in 9:40.69, and the 4x100 relay team of Maximo, Mayberry, Powell, and Hunter in 42.27.

Hitting runner-up marks were Zachary Antonio (triple jump with 13.07m), Stephen Powell (100 in 10.81), Dalton Gleeson (steeplechase in 9:50.86), Anthony Sasso (800 in 1:58.25), Richard Wynn (400 hurdles in 57.70), and the 4x400 relay team of Jensen, Sasso, Runco, and Lasseter in 3:30.78.

Placing third was Jaylen Lasseter (1500 in 4:04.76) and Ryan Jensen (800 in 1:58.62).

Fourth-place marks went to Jacob Goudy (high jump with 1.80m), Garrett Hoepf (high jump with 1.80m), Antonio (long jump with 6.62m), Jaden Wimbush (1500 in 4:05.84), Powell (200 in 21.84), and Kyle Humes (400 hurdles in 59.84).
