TU men hit five provisional marks in season-opening meet

Tiffin University hit five provisional marks at the Andres Family Alumni Open, as the men's track and field team opened their indoor season.

TU had two provisional qualifiers in the 60 meter dash, as Malachi Adams took second in 6.76 seconds and Tajarie Arthurton was third in 6.85. TU grad Jonte Baker won the race with 6.73.

Two more provisional marks were hit in the pole vault, as Collin Jasin won the event with a 4.98 meter mark. Noah Bitter also hit the same mark, joining TU assistant coach Keith Reiter (unattached) in hitting 4.98.

Benedict Draghi also hit a provo mark in the shot put with a toss of 17.04, good enough to win the event.

Five other Dragons' athletes took home first-place finishes. 

All the wins came on the track side, with Nathaniel Ondracek winning the mile in 4:17.34. Lamont Wright also won the 60 hurdles with 8.51, and Arthurton got the win in the 200 meters in 22.14.

Also getting wins were Michael McNeil in the 400 in 51.29, and the 4x400 relay team won in 3:34.37.

Second-place marks went to Anthony Nickerson (mile in 4:24.36), Allen Neal (60 hurdles in 8.53), Adams (200 in 22.40), and Josiah Gadson (long jump with 6.94 meters).
