Cameron Burrows was named USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Men's Outdoor Track & Field National Scholar Field Athlete of the Year.

Burrows, who maintained a cumulative GPA of 4.0, won the long jump and was fourth in the high jump at the 2021 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Allendale, Michigan. This is the first time Tiffin has earned an NCAA Division II Men's Outdoor Track & Field National Scholar Field Athlete of the Year award.

In addition, the men's track squad was named All Academic Team, with a total of 13 men's athletes landing All Academic Scholar honors. Tiffin's 13 honorees led all GMAC schools.

Joining Burrows (Education) on the honors list are Steele Butzin (Biology), John Casper (Biology), Ralph Casper (Biology), Nikolas Curtiss (MBA), Benedict Draghi (Forensic Science), Eric Jackson (MBA), Collin Jasin (Forensic Science), Lloyd McCurdy (International Business), Mason Plant (MBA), Lenell Shelby III (MBA), Errik Snell (MBA), and Thomas Zor (MBA).

Overall, there were more than 325 men who were named All-Academic Athletes in NCAA Division II Men's Track & Field.

The following criteria had to be met to be named an NCAA Division II All-Academic Athlete: 

  • Minimum cumulative grade point average of a 3.25 on a 4.0 scale through the end of the semester of competition. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale must convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0]. Data must be certifiable by the institution's registrar.
  • Must have completed at least 24 semester hours/36 quarter hours through the end of the semester of competition at the institution.
  • Transfer students and/or graduate students are to include only grades earned at the current nominating institution.
  • The student-athlete must have achieved an automatic or provisional qualifying mark (individual or relay event) for either the indoor season or outdoor season.

Here is the criteria for a team be named an NCAA Division II All-Academic Team:

  • The cumulative GPA (not 2020-21 academic year, not semester) for all student-athletes on the institution's NCAA Squad List for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, certifiable by the institution's registrar. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale must convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0].
  • Transfer students and/or graduate students are to include only grades earned at the current nominating institution.
