Curtiss finishes 17th as trio of Tiffin throwers shine at US Olympic Trials

Nik Curtiss led a trio of Tiffin throwers at the US Olympic Trials at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Curtiss, Ralph Casper, and TU alum Coy Blair competed amongst the field of 24 shot put standouts in a bid to make the US Olympic team. The top 12 finishers during the qualifying round advanced to the finals.

Curtiss was the top finisher for TU, taking 17th place with a put of 18.92 meters. He was followed in succession by Casper in 18th place (18.59 meters) and Blair in 19th place (18.56).

The top finisher in the qualifying round was Ryan Crouser of Nike with 22.92 meters, followed by Joe Kovacs of Velaasa/NYAC with 21.81.
